Brief: to produce a replacement 'improvised C4 explosive' asset for a modded server instance of the open world MMO game, DayZ.
The DayZ game engine is proprietary and slightly older so I worked with the client to establish an optimised asset pipeline for this and all future assets.
✅ Created using a high to low poly workflow in order to capture as much detail as possible.
✅ Only 2.8k vertices. All other surface details are baked. The low vert count avoided the need for LODs entirely while retaining great visual quality.
✅ Rendered with a 2K PBR texture set. AO is baked into the albedo channel due to engine requirements.
